CSR Annual Report 2022

We are delighted to share with our stakeholders the 9th CSR Report titled “Report on CSR 2022: Environment – Safeguarding the Planet”. This year’s focus has been on how companies and organisations in Bangladesh are dealing with the environment- the impact of which has had significant transformation in how businesses operate globally as well as in Bangladesh. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emphasise on clean energy (SDG 7), industry innovation (SDG 9), climate action (SDG 13), life below water (SDG 14) and life on land (SDG 15). All these five SDGs have a direct correlation with the
planet and its environment.

This year’s Report gives some insights into how specific companies are implementing eco-friendly innovations to reduce the negative impact on the planet. I would like to acknowledge the contributors who have shared their stories and opinions including those of Rahimafrooz, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB), Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), Maritime Unit of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others. Also my thanks go out to the private sector entities such as ATEC, SGS, City Bank Limited, Coca Cola, Mango Group and Khelo
Dhaka. I would like to acknowledge the contributions from academia such as the University of Dhaka and BSMRMU.

Through this Report we hope to build further awareness on climate action and environment not only within the private sector entities so that more businesses are implementing environment friendly approaches but we would like to encourage that there is scope for new innovations that can safeguard the planet.
